At Dove House we recognise that our learners are individuals, learn in different ways and we understand that one pathway through Key Stage 4 is becoming less appropriate to their varying needs. In response to this we have carefully designed a 2 pathway approach (we look at each cohort separately and where appropriate we also introduce a 4th Pathway with an extra Life Skills focus) to offer each learner a route which will best meet their learning styles, engage them and, of course, help to prepare them for their future.

Pupils identified for the Academic Pathway demonstrate that they can consistently apply effort and skill across a range of diverse subjects and work well within the structure of the classroom. They will have the opportunity to achieve at the appropriate level with the qualifications described in our accreditation section (link?)

For those who would benefit from a Life Skills focused curriculum, 2 of the above subjects are taken along with an extra Life Skills lessons.
Pupils identified for the Foundation Learning Pathway have been highlighted as needing a little further support to help develop their independence, confidence and social skills. Pupils on this pathway will be in a small nurturing group where the curriculum is very broad, practical and focused on building skills for independent living. Pupils will generally work towards Entry Level Qualifications where appropriate in the core subjects:
