Food Technology

Learners study the full curriculum which is coherently planned and sequenced. ​

In KS3 all Food Technology all lessons are practical ​

Pupils learn how to work in a safe and hygienic way.  ​

Pupils learn basic knife and equipment skills.​

They learn about healthy eating, special diets and basic nutrition​

In KS4 the curriculum is coherently planned and sequenced.

Pupils take a BTEC level 1 or 2 level course. ​ They learn to cook food from scratch and make life choices that benefit their health and well-being.​  

Giving the pupils the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy cooking meals at home. ​

They gain an understanding of how to plan and cook economical meals.​
